Artist: Agnese Zvirgzde

Artist Statement
I am a romantic, multidisciplinary artist who uses both digital and traditional approaches. I create experiences, that reflect my personal interpretation of beauty, making my art visually captivating, while also sharing meaningful messages. I am inspired, not only by the grace of nature, (gentle golden rays of light breaking between tree leaves and the glittering ice crystals in the snow), but also everyday moments, that pass us by. I aim to capture those breathtaking moments in my work. My goal is to contrast the grey mundane routine that often dooms on our everyday life, allowing others to also experience that same enchantment, joy, and wonder. To create the experiences that reflect my world view I work digitally with programs such as Blender, Photoshop, and Illustrator to create designs and animations, as well as traditionally, painting on canvas and working with graphite on paper. Not being afraid to experiment by mixing these mediums, I morph them together creating a new forms of expression, accentuating the elements I find important. While continuing to create I am enchanted by the magic of the world found in everyday’s simplicity. Art helps me explore the world’s beauty more deeply, which is why I enjoy creating art that feels like a story, where each viewer can find their own hidden meanings. Through my art, I find myself asking: do you, as well, notice that the world is full of wonder?
